This one is named Koppu and feels different from the last one (Molave, in July) because this time our flat is facing almost directly into the wind. So we are hearing some wild roaring noises and the rain is slapping hard against the windows. The front doors of our building also face directly into the wind, so the management has taken the extra precaution of taping the glass.
We hurried out to get a bite to eat at our local sushi joint. We were the only customers, which is definitely not normal for a weeknight. On the way home we stopped by Wellcome, one of the main grocery stores, for a few provisions. Unlike the restaurant, the store was doing a brisk business.
Koppu is supposed to pass closest to Hong Kong very early tomorrow morning, just to the southwest. No one seems particularly worried about him, but I'm still crossing my fingers that he will behave as expected and not change course.
