My Commute Never Looked Like This

Up till now, a commute for me has meant no more than half an hour of driving in my air-conditioned car, blasting an iPod, and having to sit in traffic for maybe ten minutes.  If it was a really bad commute, it was raining.

A few days ago, A. and I were caught trying to get back to the hotel around 6 p.m., which is rush hour here in HK.  Coming back from furniture shopping, we had to switch trains at the Admiralty station and gasped when we ran into this sea of people in front of us, all jostling to get on:

It didn't look any better down the side, either:

And thanks to A.'s height and lack of shyness, he was able to capture what it looked like behind us:

I love the public transport here and haven't missed my car that much, but it's going to take me a while to get used to being part of these kinds of crowds!
